So last wednesday was a summer-altering day...I caved and finally decided to apply at impark (the office I worked at two summers ago), and so I got there and everything pretty much has changed. I think there were three people there who worked there when I was there. It was a very toxic environment and so I was hesitant to go back, but at this point I really had nothing to lose. So I got home and about halfway through the afternoon I got a call from cabelas, another place I've applied, and so I had an interview there on friday ---now that I think of it, it might have been tuesday all of this happened, yes it was..I'm pretty sure...so then later when I was having dinner, so tasty... I got a call as I was taking a sip of grappa from impark. Long-story short...I have a job for the summer!!!
Friday I was able to celebrate the new job with my parents so we went to carlos and murpheys (this was after my father and I watched a drive-ins, diners and dives episode about mexican food) and I got a margarita, yum. Then we headed over to mcnally robinson and I got some great discount books.
This weekend was also super wet. It POURED yesterday, like insane poured. I do love the rain so it was awesome. I stayed inside all day and read which was lovely. Then I found out my cousin and aunt and uncle were coming over for pizza, so we had a tasty family dinner (homemade pizza---I realize that I am a huge foodie). After dinner we played some dominoes which was not as fun without my partner in crime (miranda) who usually plays with me. Then I was hoping that I would be able to hang out with my friends, but they sadly did not feel like having a great time...(I guess) So I still wanted to do something considering I haven't left the house all day. So I headed out and grabbed my book and went to starbucks and read there for a bit. Then I wanted to go out into the country to watch the lightning, but at the same time I really wanted to go see a midnight movie so I thought who doesn't have a life saturday night? high school kids!! So I texted my cousin miranda and she was of course up to nothing so we headed out. Remember how I said earlier that it poured...bishop grandin was CRAZY. We drove through the biggest puddle I've ever seen...people after the puddle had to pull over and check their brakes, and there were people stuck on the median. My strategy...yell and hold mirandas hand and hope for the best!!!
We made it. I'm glad my night turned out better than I expected. I also had a great dance party. Also on my drive home I saw an old man in a sombrero on a bus bench. Kind of strange

I wanna know....can you show me
It's the monday evening of the long-weekend. I have been home nearing on a month...and still no job. I'm so frustrated. Tomorrow will be another day where I go out everywhere on a mission, again...
as per the title, it just reminds me of getting together last night and ryans and listening to manny and andrew not only sing, but sing loudly at the top of their lungs, knowing all the words to songs from the tarzan soundtrack. Good enough that I in fact downloaded the soundtrack myself today. It's been a musical discovering weekend. I spent time with charles and his sister at their cottage saturday and we had a great musical discussion....his sister is also going to glastonbury which makes me grumble grumble. I'm really doing nothing that exciting. Like I have no big thoughts and such add when I come on here and want to get off as soon as possible.
Today I went for a drive with my oma and opa because they didn't have anything else exciting to do I guess. We ended up at this random place in seven sisters and I felt so out of place and the waitress really did not seem to care. It was really one of the strangest restaurants I have ever been to. For instance there was also the beer vendor inside the restaurant. There was also a back room that contained a larger dining table along with all the videos for rent. They also had quilts for sale, and a computer inside the main dining room, which only held about 5 tables. I had a reuben sandwich though which tasted very good. Like thick meat and grilled to perfection.
So far the favorite song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_zTzqz0_bM4
yeah...
by the way here's some stories long forgotten from the previous blog
1. I saw a really bad motorcycle accident one of my days in langley coming back from watching volleyball. A motorcycle had taken out the entire side of a truck coming around this really steep corner. We were there to witness the driver emerge from his truck to see the motorcyclists body, and we were only 3 cars behind the motorcycle. We also saw the body on the ground (or part of it)...and it turns out that he died!!!!!
2. On a less serious note, we listened to 550 songs our entire trip, not including repeats, and I'm pretty sure in my head (yes, jason derulo) was played at least 6 times

not sold on blogger yet
I'm still getting used to this.
I am feeling a little bit more awake now so it's time to blog. I left fort langly yesterday at 6 in the morning (BC time) and arrived in winnipeg at 7:45 (winnipeg time), so for those counting at home...that's 23-ish hours. Here are some highlights
*stopping in canmore on the way out with cousin-or something Josh. It was amazing to be able to see what he does and the vast amount of condiments that he lives with. Also, I haven't seen him since christmas...and canmore is a gorgeous town.
*Barely saw any animals along the highway...I felt kind of bad along the way because I was thinking about how our needs for a road in the mountains interupts the natural living space of animals. At the same time, do we also not deserve land. Do animal needs take precedents over our own.
*A lyric in a song was talking about how short life is...but then I was thinking, if life felt long we would probably not enjoy it and take a lot more for granted...and wouldn't carpe diem
*saw a shooting star last night
*I love the ukulele
*My cousins team won nationals...I wasn't sure if they were going to have the fight and drive, but I was flabbergasted and I have never been more proud. Miranda also gave me a two handed hug, which is the biggest surprise of the weekend.
*Mennonite connections. I went out with one of my friends that goes to CMU. I would say degrees of seperation between each person probably averaged at about 1.10. Almost every single person knew someone that I know
*It's also weird seeing so many people at volleyball that you knew back from your time playing. I also got to see one of my old teachers which was super cool

the new blog
soooo, last night I was in canmore, on a road trip. Decided that 12 hours of driving to calgary simply was to short for evelyn and myself, so we continued on another hour to canmore. I was then harassed by my cousin to have a blogger blog. Here you go sir. I realized that I'd really prefer to shower right now. And I'm tired. We drove through the mountains today, which was AMAZING. I know you aren't supposed to go down hills in neutral, but I did, and one hill I probably didn't go back into drive for liuke tne munutes (no joke), sorry for spelling, no time to correct. So in totaly I have drivin something like 15 or more hours. and loved it.
So I'm in someone's house that I haven't met yet! she and her family are not home. I wonder what it will be like.
